Program Emphasis
The Master of Education in Educational Counseling (EC) program is designed for individuals seeking career or advancement opportunities in two- and four-year postsecondary institutions, with a focus on academic counseling and advising. The program blends a counseling-based theoretical foundation with practical applications in student affairs to prepare practitioners who promote and facilitate educational attainment. Coursework examines the roles of counselors and advisors within the various contexts of higher education, while also focusing on the salient issues and needs of a diverse student population..
